Introduction

Introduction — Screen example

Goal

This documentation helps you use Routine Assist: plan daily routines, guide children, configure rewards, and — if needed — manage the Android app or server.

For whom

Parents and co-parents, caregivers, children (via child login), platform administrators and developers deploying or customizing Routine Assist.

Where in the app

Marketing homepage at routineassist.com; sign in at /login. Parents: /parent. Children: /child. Admins: /admin.

Prerequisites

A modern web browser or the Android app (Capacitor). For admins: email address listed in server ADMIN_EMAILS.

Step by step

  1. Open the docs via the Documentation menu or directly at docs.routineassist.com.
  2. Pick your role: parent (planning & settings), child (today's tasks) or admin/developer.
  3. Follow Getting started if you are new: account, add a child and first calendar.
  4. Use the sidebar by topic: calendar, templates, settings, child mode, Android and admin.
  5. Switch language via the locale dropdown (NL, EN, DE, FR) — the app supports the same languages.
  6. If stuck: check Tips & troubleshooting on each page and the Android section for the app.

Options & settings

Documentation is available in four languages. The app has separate language settings per parent/child (see Choosing languages).

Tips & troubleshooting

Bookmark /docs/getting-started/wat-is-routine-assist for new families. Co-parents and friends are different flows — read both sections. For API work: Developers → API patterns.
