Choosing languages

Goal​

Set the right language for parent UI, child view and documentation.

For whom​

Multilingual families; parents wanting docs in another language.

Where in the app​

Docs: locale dropdown at top. App: Settings → Display & theme (/parent/settings).

Prerequisites​

Signed in as parent for app language; docs need no login.

Step by step​

  1. Documentation: click NL / EN / DE / FR in the header — URL switches to i18n path.
  2. Parent app: go to /parent/settings → Display & theme.
  3. Pick preferred language for menus, buttons and system text.
  4. Per child you can sometimes set a separate display language.
  5. Sign out and in on child tablet if text does not switch immediately (cache).
  6. Android app follows the same setting after server sync.
  7. Child mode shows tasks in the set language; icons stay universal.

Options & settings​

Documentation language and app language are independent — both configurable.

Tips & troubleshooting​

Task titles you type are not auto-translated — duplicate tasks via templates if needed.
