Onboarding

Goal​

Quickly go from new account to a working daily plan for your first child.

For whom​

New parents right after creating an account.

Where in the app​

Automatic redirect to /parent/onboarding after first login, or via dashboard.

Prerequisites​

New parent account; no child yet or incomplete setup.

Step by step​

  1. Sign in after registration — app sends you to /parent/onboarding.
  2. Welcome screen: brief overview of Routine Assist (parent vs child).
  3. Step Add child: name, avatar, optional PIN/logout code.
  4. Step Rewards/weekly goal: optionally set weekly stars target.
  5. Step First day: add 2–5 tasks for today or tomorrow.
  6. Pick language/display if offered (see Choosing languages).
  7. Finish — you land on /parent dashboard with link to calendar.
  8. Later: templates and weekly rules for faster planning.

Options & settings​

You can usually skip onboarding via dashboard; configure everything later.

Tips & troubleshooting​

Take time on weekly goal — children see weekly stars in /child. Overly ambitious goals demotivate.
