Goal​

Bugfixes and features via Play Store — no sideload.

For whom​

Users with app from Play Store; admins registering store releases.

Where in the app​

In-app update prompt opens Play Store; /admin/app-updates for admins.

Prerequisites​

App installed via Play Store.

Step by step​

  1. App checks version against server at startup (routineassist.com).
  2. If newer version: Update available notice.
  3. Tap Open Play Store — update via Google Play.
  4. Reopen app after install.
  5. Admin publishes AAB in Play Console and registers release in /admin.
  6. Admin email in ADMIN_EMAILS required.
  7. Test internal track before production rollout.

Options & settings​

Updates run exclusively via Play Store or App Store.

Note installed version for support (Settings or Play Store).
